Let me save you some time, ignore this review of Hakyuu Houshin Engi Soul Hunter, Senkai-den Houshin Engi and go, watch the opening and ending. That is all you need to decide whether you want to watch this anime or not. I’m afraid it’s going to be a No! Unless you are feeling super passionate about every anime out there and you don’t want to miss anything. But… if you insist on reading, let’s make it really blunt and as informative as possible. But I’m warning you, in my personal opinion, this is the kind of anime that I would be ashamed of, if for example my GF saw me watching it.

Drawing and Animation
About art and animation… it is as if though Hakyuu Houshin Engi Soul Hunter, Senkai-den Houshin Engi was shot 20 years ago and shelfed, then decided to air it in 2018… (well, not surprising, since the actual manga is really old). Drawing isn’t bad, it’s just “old”… when you look at character designs, with super sharp noses, you’ll know what I mean. Another thing I can say, which has less to do with sharp noses… is that, for absolutely no reason at all, these series remind me of Shakugan no Shana, and that is not a compliment…
Story
Do I dare calling this a story? – Okay, a little guy Taikobo is on a demon hunt: trying to find all the supernatural beings and seal them away. Why you ask? Taikobo’s family was wiped out by a demon when he was a little boy (still is), and he wants vengeance. Cool huh?

Something Positive
Comic relief is kind of a life saver for this anime, or rather makes it tolerable. Apart from that, the anime, some aspects of it are so bad, that it is actually hilarious to watch, like mechanical wand for a weapon… oh boy…
